When are the ballots sent out?

Ballots can be mailed to domestic absentee voters as soon as they are ready, but not sooner than 29 days before the primary and general elections. The law does not specify when ballots must be ready for other types of elections, but usually they are available two to three weeks before an election. As soon as ballots are available, they are sent to everyone who has requested a ballot up to that time. Requests that are received after ballots are ready are processed and sent out within the next business day. For more information, please call the Auditor’s Office at 563-245-1106.
