What's New in County 22 - June 2014
The past couple of weeks we have been extremely busy at the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. We have been preparing for our K-9 fundraiser which is the 5K Run/Walk in Garnavillo on the morning of July 4th. We do have our new K-9 “Raven” who is working out very well. We also have been working to provide assistance to Garnavillo and Guttenberg police departments with traffic control for parades and fireworks along with all of the annual events in the cities over the summer. We have been working on law enforcement strategies for Ragbrai which will be coming through the area on Saturday, July 26th. Ragbrai bicyclists plan on coming through Strawberry Point, Edgewood, Elkport/Garber to Guttenberg, so if you plan on traveling through those areas be prepared for the possibility of your trip taking a little to a lot longer. Once Ragbrai gets over, we get to start the Clayton County Fair just a few days later. We have also been busy with flooding and storms which appears to be a weekly event right now also.
