Ruegnitz, Bolsinger, Embretson and Voss met at the North Buena Vista ‘Old Catholic Cemetery’ [Mike Magee said that is the name]. Men put in 4 gravestone bases and restored 4 stones as they were placed in the bases. Mike Magee also came to the cemetery. Magee then took us to the Kamm Cemetery – good walk to the spots he indicated that 2 separate burials places are! Embretson dowsed and believe we have an idea where the burials were. No stones. See pictures.

Voss has been informed that the Wagner Cemetery, near Bear Creek was plowed up by Glen Hartbeck ca 1950’s.

First Iowa Chapter of Dowsers. They dowse cemeteries, and more! Meeting was September 17, 2011. Embretson and Voss attended. Quite an education! They meet every other month, for basically the whole day, with potluck at noon. They have officers and hold a regular meeting. Most of those in attendance went to the UB – Wagner Twp. Cemetery, in the am. He (Bob Terry of Liscomb, IA. Web: www.terryscemeteryrestoration.com
demonstrated how to tell if a grave is a man or a woman. Start at feet – have to find out.
Terry has made a special dowsing rods for $45. Contain crystals in the handles. Voss paid $45 for a pair for Embretson to use. Voss submits a bill for $45. Feel we will definitely use them.

At Voss Realty office. Ruegnitz, Bolsinger, Embreton and Voss in attendance. Meeting called to order by Ruegnitz at 7:10 pm. Prior to that time, a discussion was held in regard to the First Iowa Chapter of Dowsers. Embretson brought the dowser rods.
Bolsinger moved and Embretson 2nd to approve the minutes with some minor additions and typing corrections.

Greenhill Cemetery: The woman from Dubuque has not responded once she was told that it is not a Pioneer Cemetery and so any cement would have to be reimbursed to the Committee. Will wait for her to contact us, if not, we will forget this one.

Dohrer: Mary Bankes said she definitely knows where it used to be and where the stones have been thrown. Voss to pick her up and have her direct to go to the spot. Bankes has a list of who was buried there.
Kamm: An old email from Mike Magee was read, June 15, 2011. “Uncle Joe Kamm and his wife Mary have an infant daughter Dorothy May Kamm buried there, she has a marker.” On our visit – we saw no markers.

Embretson will call Mark Rolfe to see if he will come to a meeting next year.
Don Borcherding, Rochester, MN called Ruegnitz and asked if it would be OK to put gravestone(s) on his great grandparents grave in the Krumm Cemetery. Ruegnitz moved and Bolsinger 2nd to approve that our Committee, agrees that by all means put up a stone(s).
Schori: Sec. 19 in Marion Twp. Put on list to tour in 2012 and possibly do restoration there.

Voss reported that Auditor Dennis Freitag is requesting that we submit our minutes to him via email so they can put on their Website for anyone to read as to what we do. The cemetery restorations, etc. Should plan on putting some pictures on.
Bills: Gene Ruegnitz for $48.80 for cement, newspaper ad for lawn mower for Eastman Cemetery. Brian Thiese $500.00 for mowing Borcherding Cemetery. Thor Rastette $500.00 for mowing Eastman Cemetery. Myra Voss $45.00 for handmade special dowsing rods. Embretson moved, Bolsinger 2nd to submit the bills for payment to the county.
This is the last meeting for 2011 unless something urgent appears. Ruegnitz will announce a meeting for March 2012. Bolsinger moved to adjourn, Embretson 2nd. Meeting adjourned 8:10 pm.
