Meeting of the Board of Supervisors at their office, 200 E. Bridge
St., Elkader, IA
Present: Larry Gibbs, Wayne Bockenstedt, Randy Keehner
The board approved claims for payment.
A public hearing on the following appeal was held. Applicant: Richard B.
Towle, for property described as: (Approximately 14,500 sq. ft. located
in Lots 21 & 22 of Block 3 of the Jones and Bass Addition in Section 28,
T95N, R3W, Mendon Township, Clayton County, Iowa). Applicant would like
to change the present zoning classification of A-1 (Agricultural) to the
proposed zoning classification of M-1 (Light Industrial) to allow him to
work on vintage cars and trucks. Gene Milewsky, Dan Davies, Eldon
Troester, Kirt Randall, Richard Towle were present from the public to
make comments. After hearing the comments, motion was made by Keehner,
seconded by Gibbs, to deny the appeal of Richard Towle.
Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
Jim Langhus, Joe Ihm, and Deanna Krambeer, Conservation Board members
discussed the proposed conservation department budget for fiscal year
ending June 30, 3009. They wanted the Board of Supervisors to reinstate
the amount that they were cut in the review process of departmental
budgets. The Board of Supervisors did not act on the request.
