WHEREAS, the City of Marquette, Iowa (the “City”) has established the Pleasant Ridge Urban Renewal Area (the “Urban Renewal Area”), pursuant to Chapter 403 of the Code of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the City has undertaken the construction of certain public improvements related to the development of housing within the Urban Renewal Area, to be financed from future incremental property tax revenues (the “Timber Ridge Project”); and
WHEREAS, Section 403.22 of the Code of Iowa authorizes cities to commit future incremental property taxes for this type of project for up to fifteen fiscal years, provided cities obtain the approval of the affected county, school district and area college; and

NOW, THEREFORE, it is resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, as follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 403.22 of the Code of Iowa, this Board hereby approves the use by the City of Marquette of future incremental property tax revenues produced within the Urban Renewal Area, for a period of up to fifteen fiscal years, beginning with the second fiscal year after the year in which the City first certifies debt for the Timber Ridge Project to the Clayton County Auditor.

Motion by Bockenstedt, seconded by Gibbs, to approve a letter of support and 1% match to the City of Guttenberg’s application to the RECAT board for $347,000 for phase two of the marina project. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

The Supervisors and several concerned citizens went out to view the road past Lover’s Leap. It was determined that the road would have some minimal clean up done past the rock formation site by cutting down some small trees to improve sight around the curve and grading some of the loose material out the narrowest part of the road.

/s/ Randy Keehner, Chairman
/s/ Dennis Freitag, County Auditor
